How To Get Tattooed

Before Your Appointment:

  • Get a good nights sleep and make sure you are well rested and ready to be tattooed.

  • Do NOT drink the day before/of your tattoo. Alcohol causes excessive bleeding, and getting tattooed hungover is not a good time for anyone involved.

  • Do NOT take Tylenol or any pain medication prior to your tattoo, as it thins the blood and increases bleeding.

  • Make sure to eat a good meal a few hours prior to your appointment. You may feel too anxious/excited to eat, but please do. It will prevent you from getting lightheaded during your session. If you are prone to low blood sugar/ getting lightheaded, bring an easy (not messy) snack with you to your appointment.

  • Stay hydrated! Drink lots of water & bring something to drink with you to your appointment in a re-sealable container.

Things To Remember:

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy access to the area being tattooed, or something to change into. If you are unsure of what to wear, don't hesitate to ask.

  • Avoid any white/light coloured clothing as the ink may splatter and stain.

  • Bring a sweater/blanket to drape over yourself if you get cold/ shiver from nerves.

  • We always have music playing at the shop, but feel free to bring headphones/ a book if it makes you more comfortable. We don't mind chatting, but silence is fine as well! Whatever your preference is.

  • Please make sure to advise your artist of any allergies you may have, or if you are on any medication.

  • Please advise your artist of any physical restrictions you may have that may limit how you are positioned on the massage table/chair.

  • Show up on time to your appointment! Late arrivals may lead to the forfeit of your deposit and rescheduling your appointment. If an actual emergency should arrive, let us know as soon as possible and we will work it out.

  • We ask that you please not show up excessively early to your appointment as we allow just enough time for set up and clean up between appointments

  • I do not send photos of artwork, and drawings can only be seen at the time of your appointment. Please keep in mind that drawings are done in an outline only so they can be printed as a stencil- the detail and shading is added in during the tattoo process. I leave time at the start of your appointment for any minor adjustments to the design, however any major redraws to the design that were't discussed in your initial email may result in the forfeit of your deposit and need to reschedule.

Who Can I Bring With Me To My Appointment?

  • We ask that you please not bring anyone with you to your appointment, with the exception of minors (age 16+) requiring parental consent.

  • If you MUST bring a friend/family member/travel companion, we ask that you limit it to only one other person. We are a small space which gets overwhelming and distracting for your artist if there are too many people. Your guest will have to remain on the couch in the waiting area throughout your session.

  • Under NO circumstances are you permitted to bring your child/infant to your appointment. A tattoo shop is not a safe space for an unsupervised minor. Their presence will also be a distraction to your artist.

  • There are also no pets permitted in the shop.

We Will NOT Tattoo Anyone Who Is:

  • Under the age of 18 (16+ with parental consent & signature)

  • Under the influence of drugs/alcohol

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Sick with a cold/flu

  • On antibiotics (unless you've gotten the okay from your doctor)

  • Has a sunburn

  • We have the right to refuse any service!

Numbing Cream

  • I ask that you please do not use numbing cream prior to your appointment without consulting me first so I can give you full instructions and discuss the pros and cons of using it, as well as brand recommendations, and make sure you do a patch-test prior. I do have a lidocaine spray that can be used throughout your session once the outline has been completed which is more effective than a topical cream, however is only usually effective during colour/ blackout pieces.
